Preserve Your Spot in History with the StoryCorps Experience

Don’t miss your chance to make history right here in the heart of Irvine! As a creator of communities, connections and meaningful moments, FivePoint is pleased to bring the StoryCorps experience to Orange County. National nonprofit StoryCorp is the largest oral history project of its kind, providing a platform for people to share their stories and preserve them forever at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. More than 500,000 voices have been preserved to date, and select stories are shared with the public through a variety of media outlets.

 

As a community is made up of thousands of stories woven together, FivePoint sees the importance in capturing the personal stories from many cultures, spanning multiple generations. Bringing StoryCorps to the OC will help shine the light on ordinary people with extraordinary lives. StoryCorps is a vital social catalyst that honors storytellers, facilitates their conversations and creates connections that strengthen the fabric of our very diverse community. 

 

These are conversations between two people sharing their own stories in their own words. The unscripted and unrehearsed discussions are captured in a recording as personal memories.
