The Best Margarita Recipe
July 18, 2019
What’s shakin’ this summer? Better said, what’s in your shaker this summer? Here’s an idea: grab some fresh limes from the community garden and maybe a jalapeño and mix up some margs.
Here’s the recipe:
- 3⁄4 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz agave nectar, triple sec or orange liqueur
- 1 1⁄2 oz reposado or blanco tequila
- A few slices of jalapeño or habanero pepper (optional)
- Coarse salt (optional)
Rim glass with lime wedge and salt (optional). Add ingredients to ice-filled shaker and shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail or ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel. For a slightly sweeter drink, add a dash of agave syrup (one part water, two parts agave nectar) before shaking. For a frozen margarita, use a blender instead of a shaker.
Cheers!
