What are the Great Park Neighborhoods?

The Great Park Neighborhoods will be the only master planned community adjacent to the 1,347-acre Orange County Great Park located in the heart of Orange County. This new, dynamic community that is taking shape in Irvine will offer distinct neighborhoods and park side living.

The neighborhoods will consist of a variety of residential choices and an innovative blend of  “main street” retail, office and educational uses.

Will This Be a Master-Planned Community?

Yes. Great Park Neighborhoods will follow the tradition of master planning that has made the City of Irvine so successful and desirable.

What will make Great Park Neighborhoods such a unique place to live?

Great Park Neighborhoods will have its own sense of place created through distinctive architecture, landscape design, community features and gathering places. Of course, it will also be the only master-planned community surrounding the Orange County Great Park. As depicted in the “orange bike” logo, this new  community has been designed for an active lifestyle of walking, jogging and biking. Great Park Neighborhoods will link 23 miles of new hiking and biking trails to the Cleveland National Forest, the Great Park and the Irvine Transit Center while also connecting to “main street” retail, offices and Irvine Unified School District neighborhood schoools. In addition, there will be more thn 38 acres of neighborhood parks throughout the community.

What’s the current status of Great Park Neighborhoods?

Phase 1 of Great Park Neighborhoods was approved by the Irvine City Council in September 2011.  Groundbreaking took place on January 31, 2012.  The first home sales are anticipated in mid- to late-2013.
